K-K gets Cannon Street upgrade under way
The Kwik-Klik team has completed one of the main platform-facing installations at Cannon Street station in London.
The team faced the challenge of fitting full height 7.5m Soundmaster panels from the platform to the ceiling.
Panels were cut to size on the platform and lifted into place using an Oktopus KI-B forklift system which uses suction pads to grip the panels and a forklift to manoevre them into position.
Rapid progress was made as the K-K team put in the night hours required to install the system.
"This was a particularly challenging job due to the restricted space we had available," says K-K MD, Tony Doherty. "We also had to deal with the variable ceiling height, pipework and cables. I am delighted with the way the hoarding took shape and the performance of our team."
