K-K in Morrisons' national refurb rollout
Kwik-Klik hoardings are being used to create temporary walls at five of Morrisons stores throughout the UK as the supermarket giant continues its expansion and refurbishment programme.
The stores are at Horndean (Hampshire), Weston Super Mare (Somerset), Mansfield (Nottinghamshire), Tavistock (Devon) and Newtown (Powys).
Each of the stores is benefiting from bespoke hoardings designed and installed by Kwik-Klik.
"No two stores are the same because they are at different stages in the programme and the different work phases are factored into designing the most effective and cost-efficient hoardings." says K-K MD Tony Doherty.
"For example, at Weston Super Mare we are using Soundmaster, and in Newtown we are using 5 metre high Ultraspan panels, plus 2 metres of fire barrier film."
Before every installation, Kwik-Klik carries out a free site survey and detailed plans are presented before agreeing the details with the main contractor and the store manager.
In almost all cases, our hoardings are fitted overnight to ensure minimum disruption to trading. When an existing wall is to be demolished to expand the store, contractors can get to work in the morning and our hoardings present a bright, attractive and robust customer-facing facade.
At Mansfield, Morrison is creating room for new deli and a hot food facility. There are 9 phases in a 30 week project and the Duraspan panels will be re-located or removed at the end of each phase.
Kwik-klik is working in partnership with Carillion (Tavistock and Newtown), Clugston (Mansield) and MIDAS (Weston and Horndean).
"We are delighted to be working on such high-profile work throughout the UK," says Tony Doherty "Our team has yet to bump into Alan Hansen doing his weekly shop at Morrisons, but we know he's been busy at Euro 2008."
