K-K introduces 25% recycled content into best-selling range
Kwik-Klik is working even harder to reduce the environmental impact of our products. and to offer its customers market-leading environmental credentials.
From April 2007, all of our best-selling Kwik-Klik Complete systems will contain 25% recycled plastic. The recycled products will include premium recycled plastic pellets that are made from the recycled HDPE milk cartons. This is mixed with 75% virgin plastic to ensure that the durability and colour purity of our Complete systems is maintained.
Kwik-Klik is continuing to work with its established partners in the plastics industry
to further develop products and both increase and refine the recycled content of our product range.
Re-usable
Unlike timber, PIR and other sub-standard hoarding materials, Kwik-Klik systems
can be re-used several times over and then recycled.
The prolonged useful life reduces whole life costs and reduces the environmental damage caused by manufacturing and transporting new hoardings.
Timber panels damage easily, especially when dismantling. And once they are damaged, the disposal process is expensive - in cash terms and in environmental terms. It is illegal to burn timber panels on site and law-abiding clients have to pay
for them to be collected and taken to landfill sites.
Easy on the environment
Lightweight panels are also easier to lift and to work with and they allow deliveries
to be made in one van, reducing the number of road journeys and damaging CO2 emissions.
All Kwik-klik panels returned to us at the end of their usable life are recycled. They are sent directly to a leading UK plastics manufacture who recycles them and turns them into new products - including ecogenik™ 100% recycled exterior hoarding panels.
Reducing the carbon footprint
Managing Director Tony Doherty says “Many customers are now considering ‘whole life costs’ as a central part of their purchasing strategy. They assess the full ‘carbon footprint’ generated by all products, including the costs of delivery and disposal.”
“Kwik-Klik systems are introducing and maximising the use of recycled plastic. All systems are re-usable many times over and all plastic panels are fully recyclable after use. For many of our customers they will deliver huge environmental benefits coupled with major long term cost savings.”
