The Shard, London // Case Study

Heavy duty perimeter hoardings with stunning graphics

Working with MACE, Kwik-Klik installed a heavy duty hoarding which will remain in place during the 5-year construction programme for The Shard, a landmark building in London Bridge Quarter, London.

When complete, The Shard will become Europe's tallest building.

The vast site perimeter hoarding and vehicular gates are made from Ultraspan panels with heavy duty vertical steel supports concreted into the ground on the workside.

Stunning bespoke graphics depicting how The Shard will change the London Skyline appeared on the hoarding in May 2009 and they still look like new.

Kwik-Klik has also installed temporary welfare facilities on several floors within the frame of the building. The Duraspan system provided construction workers with offices, canteens, changing rooms and WCs.

The welfare facilities were dismantled and relocated on higher floors as the building progresses upwards and as different trades begin working on each floor.
